OVER THE MOON RIVER – A Song About Having A Crush On Audrey Hepburn

This song is a tribute to Audrey Hepburn. This song references famous moments, ideas, and lines from two of her works: Breakfast At Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady.

Song About Having A Crush On Audrey Hepburn

To be fully transparent, this is a song about my crush on Audrey. And let’s be honest – it’s a crush that thousands if not millions of other people also have. Her aura follows and precedes her. The song celebrates her legendary eyes, charm, sense of fashion, her acting and singing, and most of all, her elegance!

As the author of the song, there is a lyric in the chorus of the song that poetically summarizes my crush on her. The line is “Memorize your eyes.”

When I started writing it, I didn’t know how the lyrics of the song were going to come out. I was just inspired by her elegance and gentleness. But as the song is now live, what I am pleasantly surprised is that I was able to come up with the line “memorize your eyes” which is exactly for her and about her.

FULL SONG LYRICS

CHORUS 1

Breakfast at sunrise.

While I memorize your eyes.

Memorize your eyes.

VERSE 1

Let down your hair.

Scarf drifting in the air.

Moon River’s perfect pair.

And no one can compare.

VERSE 2

You hat brim wants to hide –

A loneliness inside

Otherworldly eyes,

I fantasize!

CHORUS 2

I could have danced all night

And twirled in flight

To breakfast at sunrise

And memorized your eyes.

…memorized your eyes.

VERSE 3

You float into a room

And it begins to bloom

The swirling satin dress

You are gentleness.

VERSE 4

No one really knows

Where the Moon river flows

Cross oceans and soon

Fall in love(pause) over the moon

CHORUS

I could have danced all night

And twirled in flight

To breakfast at sunrise

And   memorized your eyes

…memorized your eyes

BRIDGE

Oh That moon river rhyme

Farries us to elegance – sometimes – sometimes

Elegance will save our age

Even when we lose the compass gauge

VERSE 5

Thanks for the memories

Of almost you and me

Still something in me longs

When I hear your songs

CHORUS

I could have danced all night

And twirled in flight

To breakfast at sunrise

And   memorized your eyes

Memorized your eyes
